  • Description

Silverpoint is a traditional drawing technique used as early as the 12th century before graphite was available. This beautiful medium produces pale grey tones on preprepared paper.

"I've always been fascinated by historical and traditional art practices and the journey they have taken from practical use to beautiful artworks. I love the immediacy and tonal qualities from using a metal point. It's an exciting way to create a piece of artwork."

Join artist Ruth Dagger to discover old primer recipes used and modern ready to use mediums available, the best papers to use and how to prepare them. You will be able to try out different styluses and use your favourite to produce a finished piece to take home.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, if you enjoy sketching and drawing you'll love this.

Please feel free to bring along photos, sketches or ideas. We do have a good range of reference materials for inspiration.
