    An elegant Louis XV fruitwood commode with Rouge marble top crafted vin Paris, France circa 1745. The commode has four drawers, two halves at the top that sit above two full width lower drawers with original silk lining adorned with floral motif. Ormolu bronze gilded handles decorate each cross banded marquetry drawer with stunning detail. The centres are mounted with ornate escutcheons.  The serpentine sides are foliate wrapped and lead down to splayed foliate decorated feet. A centre lower apron dec orated with bronze gilding. The top is crafted from a rare Rouge marble with curved corners and serpentine front. This cabinet has a wonderful rich patina and is beautifully crafted. It is in excellent condition with only minor signs or wear and use. Originally purchased from a leading London auction house it has since resided with a private collector.
