A stunning Louis XV ormolu mounted Kingswood commode circa 1745. The serpentine moulded Rouge du Maine marble top sits above three short drawers, the centre one almost hidden in design. The two lower drawers are full width and all are decorated in Kingswood cross-banded marquetry and stunning ormolu bronze handles and ornate escutcheons. Key is present. The curved sides are foliate wrapped and lead down to splayed foliate feet. This commode is in excellent condition with only a few areas where veneer banding is missing. Please see photographs. Originally purchased from a leading London auction house, this commode has remained with a private collector.
