What a spectacular piece. This is a Chinese root carving circa 1870. Depicting a large Sage accompanied by Crane and older gentleman. This carving comes in sections, the sages head, main body, crane and old gentleman can all be detached for ease of movement. This is a large carving with overall dimensions of around 65cm. It is in good condition. We think that the old gentleman may have had a staff originally and possibly the sage himself but is hard to say for sure as there are very few to compare with.  It is quite the centre piece and we simply love it!.
